Christian Voice is a prophetic ministry in the sense that we attempt,
with God's grace, to analyse current events in the light of scripture,
proclaim God's word to those in public life and provide the information
which Christians need in order to pray with the mind of God in these
dark days. We love God and the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
we love our fellow man and grieve for those afflicted by the injustice
which successive governments have enacted and we pray for the United
Kingdom to repent and turn back to God and his ways. There is no salvation
in messianic politicians or bureaucratic superstates. The only hope
for our dysfunctional nation lies in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A Nation In Pain
Who can doubt that there is something deeply wrong in the United Kingdom
today? Everyone seems to be looking out for themselves, nobody seems
to care, nobody appears to have any honour or respect - from the top
to the bottom. There is a political culture of spin and lies, in which
no-one can be trusted. Marriage vows don't matter, half a generation
of children are growing up without a father, the government is encouraging
children into promiscuity, homosexuality and infertility, crime has soared,
people seek escape in drugs, our hospitals are filthy, our politicians
spend our money like water while we all live on debt, injustice is done
in the courts and the poor are robbed by the national lottery. The Christian
Faith itself is under attack from politically-correct local government
and the media and indecency is the rule in the arts. Last but not l

ce on earth. How did it come to this?
A Government In Rebellion
The problem is, our leaders try to run things without God. Even though
our Queen was anointed to reign under the authority of God in the Name
of Jesus Christ and given the Holy Bible as "the rule for the whole
life and government of Christian princes," her ministers pass laws
in opposition to the expressed will of God. They think they know better.
They bear a huge responsibility for the way Britain has fallen into sin
and misery as a result. A whole generation has forgotten how this nation,
in desperate need, prayed to God in the name of Jesus during the last
world war, and how God heard, and saved us by His grace. Since then,
we have pushed our Saviour away. We must pray for our Government as never
before, that they might "seek first the kingdom of God , and His
righteousness."
A Need For Jesus
The state of our nation is a challenge to the Church. We need to engage
more with society, bind the wounds of the injured, reach out to the lost
and preach both the Commandments of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The only hope for our nation is in the risen, ascended, glorified Lord
Jesus. We need to remind the world that God did not give mankind His
laws because He wanted to stop us having fun, but because He loves us
and wants the best for us. God knows the evil that happens when finite
human beings try to do things their own way, and we are proving it. We
must pray that God will give the Church unity of purpose, courage and
confidence in the truth of all of God's holy word. We must also pray
that God will raise up men like John Knox and John Wesley in Britain
today to call this nation to repentance.
A Need For Prayer
We Christians must pray for our nation and its people. Our love for
our Saviour and our neighbour demands nothing less than fervent, united
prayer. Such prayer needs focus. We need to see things not as the world
sees them, but as God sees them. We have to filter our experiences through
the word of God, not the other way around, so we pray with the mind of
God. On top of that, our prayer has to be more than: "Lord, do something!" It
needs to be: "Lord, what can I do?" Or as Isaiah said, "Here
I am, send me." It is said, "When we work, we work. When we
pray, God works." From what Christian Voice has seen, we know that
when we do both, God works miracles. That is good, as it will need a
miracle for our sad, dysfunctional nation to turn from its belief that
mankind knows best and to trust in God again. What was written 3,000
years ago is still true: "Blessed is that nation, whose God is the
Lord." (Psalm 33:12)
