Emerging Church

Apostolic Church (Wales), Elim & AOG along
with "Alpha Course" Churches all have come under the wing of this new "Emerging Church"! We provide the evidence and the statement that the Sons of God & The
Pentecostal Holiness Church Continuing Networks have been called of God to
stand on the Ancient Landmark
Proverbs 22: 28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers
have set.

Rev. David P. Griffiths exposes
U.K. ministries that have come under this
devilish plot ..

Once great U.K. Pentecostal Movements
Now Gnostic Cults!

Amazing as this may seem - we have the evidence - we have
the testimony - indeed the concrete truth to show that these once great
movements have joined the new One World "Church" - the counterfeit "Church" of
the end-time Antichrist! They stand alongside the many "Alpha Course
Churches" sinking in the mire of unbelief and unrepented of sin! We provide the
evidence of this later in the revealing edition of "Network News". Beware,
beware - the deception has been subtle with Satan manifesting as an "angel of
Light" performing signs that seem to be of God - but clearly are not! In U.K. most have been taken in but God has ordained there
to be a remnant standing on the ancient truth. Part of this remnant is in the
Pentecostal Holiness Church Continuing with its Sons of God Network flying the
flag for true Pentecostal Holiness all over the World!

A Turning Away
from the One True Word of God!
FIRST: THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH (Wales) TENETS - Do they match
up to the "Bibles" advertised on websites of this now apostate movement?
Clearly they do not & in addition to this - the now newly formed
"Contemporary Apostolics" seemingly have turned away from a landmark prophecy
that gave clear instruction never to leave their Convention base of Pen - y
Groes ..
Combine all this & the evidences of many of their
websites - we find that this once great movement - pioneer of sound Pentecostal
doctrine has been drawn down very low into the clutches of "Contemporary
Church" & all its worldly ways! This is the end time "Church of the Antichrist" with its evidential counterfeit signs bringing no revival to Britain.
WE examine the evidence:
The
tenets of the Apostolic Church were published in English in 1920 (Up to
1919 they had been in Welsh) as follows -
1. The unity of
the Godhead and the Trinity of the Persons therein.
This
cannot be backed up by the widely used "new translations" so embraced by Apostolic Church websites viewed:
"Bibles" quoted on Apostolic
Church websites agree with New World Translation on "lesser than Jehovah God"
point making the new "Contemporary Apostolics" believing in a created Jesus -
rather than one of the same substance as the Father - as in the original
tenets.
because you believe in the Spirit what
the "Bible" you use says - because
that's your sword!
The New "Contemporary Apostolics"
use the same scriptural codices as the Jehovah's Witnesses & Roman
Catholics and so knowingly or unknowingly
believe the same!!!!!!
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that
thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou
hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me:
therefore will I change their glory into shame.
8 They eat up the sin of my people, and they
set their heart on their iniquity.
The Apostolic Church, therefore, knowingly
or unknowingly believe Jesus to be lesser than the Father - because their
"Bibles" use the same codices as the Jehovah's Witnesses do!
THIS IS A FACT!
PROOF
NWT Jehovah's Witness: Phil.2: 6 who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no
consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.
NIV Phil. 2:6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
NASB Phil. 2:6 who, although He (A)existed in the (B)form of God, (C)did not regard equality with God a
thing to be grasped
AMPLIFIED Phil. 2:6 Who, although being essentially one with
God and in the form of God [[a]possessing the fullness of the attributes
which make God God], did not [b]think this equality with God was a thing to
be eagerly grasped [c]or retained,
NLT Phil. 2:6 Though
he was God,[a] he did not think of equality with God as
something to cling to.
ESV Phil 2: 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did
not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
The Authorized Version of the Apostolic Church founders was their
sword - today another "Jesus" has appeared in their contemporary world!
CORRECT A.V. of the founders supports the
tenet: Phil. 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with
God:
I John 5: 7 For there are three that
bear record in heaven, the Father, the
Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are
one.
How
can you have a tenet which declares the unity of the Godhead and a "Bible" that
declares that Jesus could not grasp equality with God!!!!!!! Signs confirm the
Word and strange activities confirm the false Word!!!!!
The
heretical "Bibles" of the new "Contemporary Apostolics" do not show the Father,
the Word and Holy Ghost as "0ne" but do show them in "agreement"! I can be in
agreement with Rev. Tony Kelly but it does not make us one and so the
"Contemporary Apostolics" now proclaim a very different Godhead through their
"Bibles" than the Godhead of Tenet 1!
NIV I John 5: 7 For there are three that testify: 8the[a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the
three are in agreement.
NASB I
John 5: 7For there are (N)three that testify: 8[b]the Spirit and the water and the blood; and
the three are in agreement.
NLT I John 7 So we have these three witnesses[c]-8 the Spirit, the
water, and the blood-and all three agree.
ESV I John
5: 7 For there are three
that testify: 8the Spirit and the water and the blood;
and these three agree.
As
we have discovered also, "new translations" do not declare that it was "God
manifest in the flesh"!
"New translations" agree with New World Translation on "God did not manifest in the flesh" point! "He" or "Christ" is not
admitting God manifest in the flesh!
NWT: I Tim. 3:16 Indeed, the sacred secret of this godly devotion is admittedly great:
'He was made manifest in flesh, was declared righteous in spirit, appeared to
angels, was preached about among nations, was believed upon in [the] world, was
received up in glory.'
NIV: 1 Tim. 3:16 Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He[a] appeared in a body,[b] was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in
the world, was taken up in glory.
NASB: 1 Tim. 3:16 By common confession,
great is (A)the mystery of godliness:He who was (B)revealed in the flesh,
Was (C)vindicated in the Spirit,(D)Seen by angels. (E)Proclaimed among the nations,(F)Believed on in the world,(G)Taken up in glory.
AMPLIFIED: 1 Timothy 3:16 And
great and important and weighty, we confess, is the hidden truth (the mystic
secret) of godliness. He [[a]God] was made visible in human flesh,
justified and vindicated in the [Holy] Spirit, was seen by angels, preached
among the nations, believed on in the world, [and] taken up in glory. Footnotes: a) 1 Timothy 3:16 Some manuscripts read
"God."
(Note; where Amplified says "some manuscripts - it is insultingly
downgrading Textus Receptus - the PURE WORD OF GOD!)
NLT I Tim.
3:16 Without question,
this is the great mystery of our faith[a]: Christ[b] was revealed in a human body and
vindicated by the Spirit.[c]He was seen by angels and announced to the
nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.
ESV
I Tim. 3:16 Great
indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:He[a] was manifested in the flesh, vindicated[b] by the Spirit,[c] seen by angels, proclaimed among the
nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.
AUTHORIZED
VERSION says clearly
"GOD
MANIFEST IN THE FLESH"
I Tim. 3: 16 And without controversy great is the
mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received
up into glory.
2. The utter
depravity of human nature, the necessity for repentance and regeneration, and
the eternal doom of the finally impenitent.
The
"eternal doom" is not supported by the "new translations".
CORRECT
A.V. Mark 16: 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He
that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall
be damned
NKJV Mark16: 15
And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every
creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be
saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
NIV
Mark 16:15He said to them, "Go into all the world and
preach the good news to all creation. 16Whoever believes
and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
WEBSTERS DICTIONARY on "DAMNED" - People who are condemned to eternal punishment; "he felt he had
visited the realm of the damned".
On "CONDEMNED" - Pronounced or proved guilty; "the condemned man
faced the firing squad with dignity"; "a convicted criminal".
"Damned" is much more serious as this
relates to eternal punishment according to Webster's Dictionary, whereas
"condemned" means to be made dead in the context of immediate death - not the
context of Mark 16. NKJV, NIV therefore, gives credence to the annihilationist
theory rather than the Biblical perspective of damnation which is what Jesus
saved the "born again" believer from.

3. The Virgin Birth, sinless life, triumphant Resurrection, Ascension, and
abiding Intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ; His Second Coming and Millennial
Reign upon earth.
Joseph
= Jesus father in "new translations" so where does that leave the virgin birth?
"New translations" agree with New World Translation on "Joseph was Jesus father" point!
NWT Jehovah's Witness Luke 2:33 And its father and mother continued
wondering at the things being spoken about it.
NIV Luke 2: 33 The child's father and mother marveled at
what was said about him.
NASB Luke 2:33 And His father and (A)mother were amazed at the things
which were being said about Him.
AMPLIFIED Luke 2:33 And His [legal] father and [His] mother
were marveling at what was said about Him.
NLT Luke 2:33 Jesus' parents were amazed at what was
being said about him.
ESV Luke 2:33 And his father and his mother marveled at what was
said about him.
The Authorised Version does
not!
Luke 2: 33 And Joseph and his mother
marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
IF TENETS 1 to 3 cannot
be supported by the "Bibles" of the "Contemporary Apostolics", whose "Bibles"
tell of a counterfeit Godhead - then how can the rest of the tenets be
associated today to the Godhead of the anointed founders?
4. Justification and Sanctification of the Believer through the
finished work of Christ.
5.
The Baptism of the Holy Ghost for believers, with signs following.
6.
The Gifts of the Holy Ghost for the comfort, edification and building up of the
Church, which is the Body of Christ.
7.
The Sacraments of Baptism by immersion, and of the Lord's Supper.
8.
The Divine Inspiration and Authority of the Holy Scriptures.
This
was a reference to the Authorised Version, sadly missing from most Apostolic Church websites.
9.
Church Government by Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Elders
and Deacons.
10.
The possibility of falling from Grace.
11.
The obligatory nature of Tithes and Offerings.
The
most serious breach is the undermining of Jesus deity in the "new translations"
seemingly embraced by most Apostolic Churches. It is the heart of God that the
tenets so prayerfully brought together be backed by the one true Bible. It is
time to return to the book so loved by the Pentecostal Pioneers.

SECOND: THE ELIM FOURSQUARE GOSPEL ALLIANCE
In relating Elim's modern day statement of faith to
the heart of the Pioneers we use the contents of six messages given by
Principal George Jeffreys over IRBA Radio.
Albert Edsor: 'Set Your House In Order' p.164-176
THE BIBLE: We believe the Bible, as originally given, to be without
error, the fully inspired and infallible Word of God and the supreme and final
authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
In four years at what was Elim's Bible College I cannot
recall one single reference to the Bible as used by the College's founder
George Jeffreys. Indeed, the Bible mainly used in Elim's College was the
Alexandrian counterfeit - the NIV!

Proverbs 22:
28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy
fathers have set.
.. He was a man of one Book - The Authorised Version
of the Bible, which he loved and treasured and from which he derived great
spiritual strength.
THE TRINITY: We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in
three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that these three are one God,
sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.
I found no foundation given Biblically for this in Elim's Bible College, a Bible College with no Bible, only a Gnostic interpretation brought
together by spiritualists called the NIV. This heretical document declares
Jesus not to be co-equal - along with all the other heretical "Bibles" the so
called Pentecostal world is being bound by.
THE SAVIOUR: We
believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin
birth, in His real and complete humanity, in His sinless life, in His
authoritative teaching, in His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice through
His blood shed, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand
of the Father, in His heavenly intercession and His second advent to receive
His Church.
Edsor records Jeffreys belief in the deity of Jesus Christ, and
the judgment seat will be of Christ.
How can Elim believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ when their
"Bible" says he is not equal to the Father? In addition their "Bible" does not
show God having been manifest in the flesh!

I Tim. 3: 16 And without controversy great is the
mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received

George
Jeffreys as reported by Edsor declared the following (p. 166) :
Jesus was God veiled in human form. He
claimed to be the only door into the Kingdom of God; the only Giver of eternal
life to sinners; the only Bread of Life to satisfy spiritual hunger; the only
Living Water to quench soul-thirst; the only Way, to follow; the only Truth, to
lean upon; and the only Life in which to abide. He also claimed to be the only
possessor of the keys of death and of hell.
How can Elim believe in the virgin birth when their "Bible" gives Jesus an earthly
father?
THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe
in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and
the necessity of His work in conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and
sanctification, and that the believer is also promised an enduement of power as
the gift of Christ through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs
following. Through this enduement the believer is empowered for fuller
participation in the ministry of the Church, its worship, evangelism and
service.
The Holy
Spirit's deity is dependent on the Son's deity which has been brought into
question by use of false translations in Elim.
MANKIND: We believe
in the universal sinfulness of all men since the Fall, rendering man subject to
God's wrath and condemnation.
SALVATION: We believe in the necessity for salvation
of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by which the
sinner is pardoned and accepted as righteous in God's sight. This
justification is imputed by the grace of God because of the atoning work of
Christ, is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit
and a holy life.
THE CHURCH: We believe in the spiritual unity and the priesthood of all
believers in Christ and that these comprise the universal Church, the Body of
Christ.
This is an excellent statement but how much is it realised in Elim that the Body of Christ is one spirit with the Lord, members of his body,
flesh and bones, partakers of his divine nature?
I Cor.6:17; Eph.5:30; Jer. 3:14 Joined unto the Lord - members of his body, flesh and bones!?
I Cor.6:17 But he that is joined unto the
Lord is one spirit.
Eph.5
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For
this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto
his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This
is a great mystery: but I speak
concerning Christ and the church.
Jer. 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children,
saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city,
and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
Rom. 12:1 What do we present holy?
Rom. 12: 1 I beseech you therefore,
brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
I John 4:17 As He is - So Are we ?
I John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is,
so are we in this world.
II Peter 1:4; Col. 1:12; Rom. 8:30; Heb.
3:14 Partakers of the divine nature and glorified?
II Peter 1: 4 Whereby are given unto
us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers
of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world
through lust.
Col. 1:12 Giving thanks unto the
Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the
saints in light:
Rom. 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and
whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Heb. 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the
beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
My experience of the
"Contemporary Pentecostals" is that their "Pastors" do not want their people to
know these scriptures on account that if they do - they will lose control over
what they perceive as "their flock"!
THE MINISTRY: We believe
in the ministries that Christ has set in His Church, namely, apostles,
prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers and in the present operation of the
manifold Gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament.
During my time at Elim Bible College I saw little evidence of this, my experience being of seeing the Pastor-People
syndrome strongly in action.
George
Jeffreys as reported by Edsor declared the following (p. 175) :
Because Formal Protestantism has
neglected or ignored Christ's pattern for His Churches in Matthew 18: 15 to 20,
one of the most powerful promises in the Word of God has been surrendered to a
false centrally-controlled priesthood that has no foundation whatsoever in the
New Testament.
THE
ORDINANCES: We
believe in the baptism of believers in water in obedience to the command of
Christ and the commemoration of Christ's death by the observance of the Lord's
Supper until His return. George
Jeffreys as reported by Edsor declared the following (p. 170) :
Baptism by immersion in the Name of
Jesus Christ is the outward witness that the penitent has found eternal life in
the Death of Christ.
THE
COMMISSION: We
believe that the Gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church
is therefore commissioned to preach the gospel to the world and to fulfil a
ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of
mankind. It is pleasing to witness "the Gospel" in the statement of faith which
is contrary to the "new translations" used in Elim, which declare "an Gospel" or "our common
faith" which means there is more than one!
Why can't Elim use the Bible instead of Gnostic Counterfeits
which undermine excellent points given in Elim's Statement of Faith?
CORRECT A.V. Rev. 14:6 And I saw
another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on
the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
NASB - Rev. 14:6 And I saw
another angel flying in (A)midheaven, having (B)an eternal gospel to
preach to (C)those who live on the earth, and to (D)every nation and tribe and tongue and
people;
MESSAGE - Rev 14:6 I saw another Angel soaring in
Middle-Heaven. He had an Eternal Message to preach to all who
were still on earth,
AMPLIFIED = Rev 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying in
midair, with an eternal Gospel (good news) to tell to the
inhabitants of the earth, to every race and tribe and language and people.
A.V. Titus 1:4 To Titus, mine own son after the
common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God
the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
NIV Titus 1:4 To Titus, my true son in our
common faith:
Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ
Jesus our Savior. (Use of "our" denies exclusivity and omitting
"the" questions deity of the Lord Jesus Christ)
NASB Titus 1:4 4To (A)Titus, (B)my true child in a (C)common faith: (D)Grace and peace from God the Father
and (E)Christ Jesus our Savior. (a common faith means there is more than one with the verse giving question
to Christ Jesus deity)
NKJV
Titus 1:4 4 To Titus, a true son in our common faith:
Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus
Christ[a] our Savior.
THE COMING KING: We believe in the personal, physical and visible return of
the Lord Jesus Christ to reign in power and glory. Consistent with the Foursquare Gospel, but likely to have been
shortened from the original.
THE FUTURE STATE: We believe in the resurrection of the dead and in the
final judgement of the world, the eternal conscious bliss of the righteous and
the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked.
MAJOR PROBLEM - "Damnation" is different to the
condemnation of the new translations, a condemned man having a once for all
punishment, a damned man having eternal punishment. Elim's "eternal
conscious punishment" is not supported in the "Bibles" used in Elim. (http://www.elim.org.uk/elim_members/articles.asp?categorycode=ART00988&ID=ART00988) HEALING MISSING FROM CURRENT STATEMENT OF FAITH: Considering healing was very much part of Elim's original calling it is extremely strange not to find healing in
the existing statement of faith.
George
Jeffreys as reported by Edsor declared the following (p. 168) :
Bodily healing in the supernatural realm
is clearly taught throughout the whole range of Scripture. The Christian Church
right down through the centuries has emphasized the truth that the Bible is the
Word of God, that its commandments should be implicitly obeyed, and its
promises believingly appropriated.
This statement of Jeffreys is a million miles
away from my experiences at what was Elim Bible College, where I believe the god operating was one of mysticism and learning - the Egyptian god Thoth.
This
Egyptian god (note Jesus is a god in "new translations) is the god of wisdom
and learning who invented writing and was the official scribe of the
afterworld. In this belief he wrote The Book of the Dead and travelled
around with Ma'at his goddess consort.
Personal Comment: I was
led to expose this god in a Holy Ghost led study and my wife Lindsay during our
Church meeting (13 05 07) at Chester recalled seeing a picture of Thoth and the
Book of the Dead at Elim Bible College (now known as Regents Theological
College, Nantwich) Library during our time there in the early 90's.
It
is said that Thoth invented the magical arts including the Tarot deck so
commonly used today in this new "multi-faith" Britain with its combination of
witchcraft and Christianity.
http://www.egyptianmyths.net/thoth.htm
Originally Thoth was a god of
creation, and the god of learning. Jesus in "new translations" is presented as
being a god as well. In this mythology Thoth was the creator God
in Upper Egypt where in Ibis form he laid the world egg! With Clement
(Alexandrian theologian from where Elim now gets its theology) looking
to combine ideologies into Christian thinking there is evidence to show that
there is a build up of theology going on at Alexandria alien to the belief
structures the Early Church had given their lives for. Intellectuals were
undermining Early Church belief with their Masoretic Text and Textus
Receptus, in the same way intellectuals in Elim as I indeed witnessed at
their College undermine the passions of the Pentecostal pioneers. http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/thoth.htm
What has made Elim an Egyptian cult in my view is
their adherence primarily to the Alexandrian NIV in their College but not only
that - their intense striving to combine mysticism and philosophy together with
a "Jesus" described in their NIV as "Capstone" shows to me that this movement
has been seriously infiltrated by powers leading them into being a prime mover
of the New World Order "Church".
A.V.
I Peter 2:6,7
6 Wherefore
also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay
in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious:
and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto
you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient,
the stone which the builders
disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
The
Cornerstone now, however, has become "the capstone"(pictured) - the top stone
of a pyramid, a symbol of Lucifer - thus making Jesus and Lucifer one of the
same in the NIV, one of the translations embraced by the new breed of
"Pentecostal" churches.
NIV: 6 For in Scripture it says:
"See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame."[a] 7Now to you who
believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
"The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone,
THIRD: Assemblies
of God U.K. & Ireland - not International (a separate organization)
The first noticeable difference in Assemblies of God's
presentation of its Statement of Faith from the original featured in Redemption
Tidings of 1924 to its present day website presentation at http://aog.org.uk/church_interest.asp is that the introduction seems to have been removed. In 1924 this was:
The Scriptures known as the Bible are the Inspired Word of
God; the infallible and all-sufficient rule for faith, practice and conduct.
This Statement of Fundamental Truths is not intended as a creed for the Church,
but as a basis of unity for a full Gospel Ministry, and we do not claim that it
contains all truth in scripture.
I Cor. 1: 10 Now I beseech you,
brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak
the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be
perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
The scripture referred to in this introduction, however,
cannot be achieved if "Bibles" are used today out of line with the original
Statement of Faith.
The current and 1924 statements are shown here with
comments in blue. Scripture references are A.V. for 1924 and NIV for modern
which is a widely used "modern translation" in A.O.G.
1924: The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
A.V.
II Timothy 3:15And that from a child thou hast known the
holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith

profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness:

Peter 2:2 2As newborn babes, desire the sincere
milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
There is a major difference in emphasis here,
the Pioneers having no doubt in declaring that the Bible is the inspired Word of
God. This has been changed to "we believe", a possible influence of Political
Correctness! One scripture has changed too. Saying "we believe" acknowledges
"other beliefs" which may be correct. The 1924 declaration is a statement of
fact - not belief!
MODERN: We believe that the Bible (i.e. the Old and New Testaments excluding the
Apocrypha), is the inspired Word of God, the infallible, all sufficient rule
for faith and practice (2 Tim. 3:15-16; 2 Peter 1:21). NIV II Tim 3:15and how from infancy you have known the holy
Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in

useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
II Peter 1:21For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man,
but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
1924: The unity of The One True and Living God Who is the Eternally self
existent "I AM," Who has also revealed himself as One Being in three persons -

love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
SERIOUS SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH USE OF "MODERN
TRANSLATIONS". This part of the Statement of Faith can be supported by the A.V.
which was used in 1924 but not by "modern translations" which depict Jesus as
being subordinate to the Father rather than one being. PROOF ("Modern translations" in agreement
with Jehovah's Witness belief - the 1924 Pioneers of the A.V. were not) :
NWT Jehovah's Witness: Phil. 2: 6 who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no
consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.
NIV Phil. 2:6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
NASB Phil. 2:6 who, although He (A)existed in the (B)form of God, (C)did not regard equality with God a
thing to be grasped
AMPLIFIED Phil. 2:6 Who, although being essentially one with
God and in the form of God [[a]possessing the fullness of the attributes
which make God God], did not [b]think this equality with God was a thing to
be eagerly grasped [c]or retained,

something to cling to.
ESV Phil 2: 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did
not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,

God, thought it not robbery to be equal with

SERIOUS SERIOUS PROBLEM with "we believe in
the Virgin Birth" for in "new translations" used by AOG Jesus had an earthly
father as believed by Jehovah's Witnesses too!!! PROOF: NWT Jehovah's Witness Luke 2:33 And its father and mother continued
wondering at the things being spoken about it.

said about him.
The Authorised Version is
extremely different and accurate. Luke 2: 33 And Joseph and his mother
marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
MODERN: We believe in the Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Miraculous Ministry,
Substitutionary Atoning Death, Bodily Resurrection, Triumphant Ascension and
Abiding Intercession of the Lord Jesus Christ and in His personal, visible,
bodily return in power and glory as the blessed hope of all believers (Isa.

MODERN: We believe in salvation through faith in Christ, who, according to the
Scriptures, died for our sins, was buried and was raised from the dead on the
third day, and that through His Blood we have Redemption (Titus 2:11, 3:5-7;
Rom. 10:8-15; 1 Cor. 15:3-4). This experience is also known as the new
birth, and is an instantaneous and complete operation of the Holy Spirit upon
initial faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:5-6; James 1:18; 1 Pet.
1:23; 1 John 5:1).
1924: The baptism by immersion in water is enjoined upon all who have really
repented and have truly believed with all their hearts in Christ as Saviour Matt.
28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Acts 2:38-39 MODERN: We believe that all who have truly repented and believed in Christ as
Lord and Saviour are commanded to be baptised by immersion in water (Matt.
28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Acts 2:38-39).
1924: The baptism in the Holy Spirit, the initial evidence of which is the
speaking with other tongues. Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 19:6. MODERN: We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an enduement of the
believer with power for service, the essential, biblical evidence of which is
the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts

1924: Divine Healing - Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the
Atonement. Isa. 53:4-5, Matt. 8:16-17, James 5:13-16
MAJOR MAJOR PROBLEM - the Work of Dr. Petts, former Principal and
trainer of AOG ministers:
Petts
direct quote from his paper for EPTA 1993 Healing and the Atonement: ... I
reject the view that Matthew 8:17 teaches that healing is in the atonement.
There are no direct references to the Servant passages in Matthew's passion
narrative and his quotes from those passages are used in a non-redemptive
setting. The quote from Isaiah 53:4 is set in the context of the healing of
physical sickness, and Matthew avoids, both by his divergence from the LXX and
in his choice of verbs any suggestion that Jesus vicariously took sickness upon
himself. Indeed for Matthew, Isaiah 53:4 was fulfilled not in Jesus' passion,
but in his healing ministry in Galilee.
MODERN: We believe that deliverance from sickness, by Divine Healing is provided
for in the Atonement (Isa. 53:4-5, Matt. 8:16-17, James 5:13-16).
1924: The Breaking of Bread - This is enjoined upon all believers until the
Lord comes. Luke 22:14-20; 1 Cor. 11:20-34
MODERN: We believe that all who have truly repented and believe in Christ as Lord
and Saviour should regularly participate in Breaking of Bread (Luke 22:14-20;
1 Cor. 11:20-34).
1924: The premillenial second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself is the
blessed hope set before all believers. I Cor. 15:22-24; I Thess. 4: 13-18; I
Cor. 15: 51-57.
The everlasting punishment of all who are not written in the Book of
Life. Rev. 20: 10-15
MAJOR PROBLEM - Hades is not the same place
as hell, new translations preferring the softer option, and damnation is
different to the condemnation of the new translations, a condemned man having a
once for all punishment, a damned man having eternal punishment.
A.V. Mark 16: 16 He that believeth and
is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
NKJV: Mark 16: 16 He who believes
and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned
NIV: Mark 16:16 Whoever
believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be
condemned.
MODERN: We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the everlasting
conscious bliss of all who truly believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and the
everlasting conscious punishment of all whose names are not written in the Book
of Life (Dan. 12:2-3; John 5:28-29, 1 Cor. 15:22-24; Matt. 25:46; 2 Thess. 1:9;
Rev. 20:10-15).

Ephesians
4: 7But unto every one of us is given grace according to
the measure of the gift of Christ.
8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led
captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended
first into the lower parts of the earth?
10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far
above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the
knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the
stature of the fulness of Christ:
14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro,
and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and
cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all
things, which is the head, even Christ:
16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted
by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the
measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself
in love.

We ask you all: which Cross are
you preaching: The Old Rugged Cross or the new one of "The Emerging Church" that denies our Lord's glorious deity replacing him with the one "like the most high!"
On a
hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.
Refrain
So
I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.
O
that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.
Refrain
In
that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.
Refrain
To
the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He'll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I'll share. Refrain

The
Old Cross and the New
ALL UNANNOUNCED AND MOSTLY UNDETECTED there has come in modern
times a new cross into popular evangelical circles. It is like the old cross,
but different: the likenesses are superficial; the differences, fundamental.
From this new cross has sprung a new philosophy of the Christian
life, and from that new philosophy has come a new evangelical technique-a new
type of meeting and a new kind of preaching. This new evangelism employs the
same language as the old, but its content is not the same and its emphasis not
as before.
The old cross would have no truck with the world. For Adam's proud
flesh it meant the end of the journey. It carried into effect the sentence
imposed by the law of Sinai. The new cross is not opposed to the human race;
rather, it is a friendly pal and, if understood aright, it is the source of
oceans of good clean fun and innocent enjoyment. It lets Adam live without
interference. His life motivation is unchanged; he still lives for his own
pleasure, only now he takes delight in singing choruses and watching religious
movies instead of singing bawdy songs and drinking hard liquor. The accent is
still on enjoyment, though the fun is now on a higher plane morally if not
intellectually.
The new cross encourages a new and entirely different evangelistic
approach. The evangelist does not demand abnegation of the old life before a
new life can be received. He preaches not contrasts but similarities. He seeks
to key into public interest by showing that Christianity makes no unpleasant
demands; rather, it offers the same thing the world does, only on a higher
level. Whatever the sin-mad world happens to be clamoring after at the moment
is cleverly shown to be the very thing the gospel offers, only the religious
product is better.
The new cross does not slay the sinner, it redirects him. It gears
him into a cleaner and jollier way of living and saves his self-respect. To the
self-assertive it says, "Come and assert yourself for Christ." To the
egotist it says, "Come and do your boasting in the Lord." To the
thrill seeker it says, "Come and enjoy the thrill of Christian fellowship."
The Christian message is slanted in the direction of the current vogue in order
to make it acceptable to the public.
The philosophy back of this kind of thing may be sincere but its
sincerity does not save it from being false. It is false because it is blind.
It misses completely the whole meaning of the cross.
The old cross is a symbol of death. It stands for the abrupt,
violent end of a human being. The man in Roman times who took up his cross and
started down the road had already said good-by to his friends. He was not coming
back. He was going out to have it ended. The cross made no compromise, modified
nothing, spared nothing; it slew all of the man, completely and for good. It
did not try to keep on good terms with its victim. It struck cruel and hard,
and when it had finished its work, the man was no more.
The race of Adam is under death sentence. There is no commutation
and no escape. God cannot approve any of the fruits of sin, however innocent
they may appear or beautiful to the eyes of men. God salvages the individual by
liquidating him and then raising him again to newness of life.
That evangelism which draws friendly parallels between the ways of
God and the ways of men is false to the Bible and cruel to the souls of its
hearers. The faith of Christ does not parallel the world, it intersects it. In
coming to Christ we do not bring our old life up onto a higher plane; we leave
it at the cross. The corn of wheat must fall into the ground and die.
We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public
relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We
must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big
business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not
diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum.
God offers life, but not an improved old life. The life He offers
is life out of death. It stands always on the far side of the cross. Whoever
would possess it must pass under the rod. He must repudiate himself and concur
in God's just sentence against him.
What does this mean to the individual, the condemned man who would
find life in Christ Jesus? How can this theology be translated into life?
Simply, he must repent and believe. He must forsake his sins and then go on to
forsake himself. Let him cover nothing, defend nothing, excuse nothing. Let him
not seek to make terms with God, but let him bow his head before the stroke of
God's stern displeasure and acknowledge himself worthy to die.
Having done this let him gaze with simple trust upon the risen
Saviour, and from Him will come life and rebirth and cleansing and power. The
cross that ended the earthly life of Jesus now puts an end to the sinner; and
the power that raised Christ from the dead now raises him to a new life along
with Christ.
To any who may object to this or count it merely a narrow and
private view of truth, let me say God has set His hallmark of approval upon
this message from Paul's day to the present. Whether stated in these exact
words or not, this has been the content of all preaching that has brought life
and power to the world through the centuries. The mystics, the reformers, the
revivalists have put their emphasis here, and signs and wonders and mighty
operations of the Holy Ghost gave witness to God's approval.
Dare we, the heirs of such a legacy of power, tamper with the
truth? Dare we with our stubby pencils erase the lines of the blueprint or
alter the pattern shown us in the Mount? May God forbid. Let us preach the old
cross and we will know the old power. (A. W. Tozer, Man, the Dwelling Place
of God, 1966)
Bishop Lance asks the question - the old cross or the new - an example
of the new is the Gnostic Alpha Course examined here ..
Rev. David P. Griffiths reveals the real truth!
Introduction
Nicky Gumbel, Alpha's organizer with his
connections to Swiss Banks & The Toronto Blessing has brought this course
into the hands of Roman Catholic "Churches" and Protestant "Churches" who have
sold out to this new ecumenical wave of the devil that emphasizes a unity
between Churches rather than the pre-eminent unity of the Body Christ with
Christ Jesus - the Head himself!
Even though I am a Minister of
Wesleyan doctrine I greatly respect the ministry of Dr. Ian Paisley (a likely
five point Calvinist) in U.K. for his determination to uphold the U.K.
Protestant Constitutional Acts of the Nation and also in his portrayal of the
total depravity of man before re-birth, a point in which we can be fully agreed
- but also this is the key point on which we are clearly disagreed with the
whole presentation of Alpha that lends itself to bringing conversions to
Gnosticism rather than to the risen Lord Jesus.
In Colin Mercer's excellent booklet The Alpha Course
Examined (Mourne Missionary Trust, Northern Ireland) Dr. Paisley after
giving some excellent introductory comments develops these into three points we
believe God is calling us to develop so as to prove beyond all doubt that this
Course with seemingly good intentions is a counterfeit.
Dr. Paisley's Introductory Comments
The Alpha Course is a course sponsored by Rome and the ecumenical Protestant churches, purporting to present the true gospel of
Christ in a simple way to enquirers .
The Alpha Course is an attempt to make the strait way wide
and the narrow way broad. It moves the great markers which God has set as the
decisive marks of demarcation between the revealed truth of God and the
reprobate lie of the Devil ....
Making "the strait way wide and the narrow way broad" is
an accurate observation and in line with Bishop Lance Keeling's comments on
there now being a new cross:
The new cross does not slay the sinner, it redirects him.
It gears him into a cleaner and jollier way of living and saves his
self-respect. To the self-assertive it says, "Come and assert yourself for
Christ." To the egotist it says, "Come and do your boasting in the
Lord." To the thrill seeker it says, "Come and enjoy the thrill of
Christian fellowship." The Christian message is slanted in the direction
of the current vogue in order to make it acceptable to the public.
This in my view is a perfect description of the Alpha Course.
A Development of Dr. Paisley's Three Point Critique of Alpha.
1) The Alpha Course points the way of salvation as
forgiveness of sin without repentance for sin.
As we have discovered with the "Contemporary Apostolics", "Elims"
and "AOG"'s there has been a turning from preaching about the fires of hell to
a new user friendly Gospel that sees the very word "hell" as a four letter word
never to be uttered. Indeed the Gnostic "Bibles" so commonly in use have
removed the very hint of this fiery place reserved for the wicked.
A.V. Psalm 9: 17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations
that forget God.
These user friendly Gnostic "Bibles" have another place reserved
for the Wicked, the NIV advocated by Alpha being well in line with
Jehovah's Witness belief, a phenomena now shared with the new doctrinal beliefs
of the U.K. Pentecostal denominations.
NWT
Jehovah's Witness Psalm 9:17 Wicked people will turn back to SheŽol, Even all the nations forgetting God.
NIV Psalm
9: 17 The wicked return to the grave, [a] all the nations that forget God.
NASB
Psalm 9: 17 The wicked will (A)return to Sheol, Even all the nations
who (B)forget God.
AMP Psalm
9: 17 The wicked shall be turned
back [headlong into premature death] into Sheol (the place of the departed
spirits of the wicked), even all the nations that forget or are forgetful of
God.
NLT
17 The wicked will go down to the grave.[a] This is the fate of all the nations who
ignore God.
ESV
17The wicked shall(A) return to Sheol, all the nations
that(B) forget God.
Dr. Paisley: Preachers and priests who do not believe in
hell as taught in the holy Scriptures push the Alpha Course. Some of these
preachers have tried to put out the fires of hell. Some deny hell altogether.
Forgiveness without repentance is the Devil's lie to deceive and damn the souls
of men. When the Alpha Course directs the sinner away from true repentance for
sin, then it sets not the course of real salvation but rather counterfeit
salvation. It leaves already deceived souls further deceived into believing
that they are saved when in fact they are lost. For example according to "Alpha
News" a convert states, "I still needed some physical evidence of the existence
of God. Part of the course was the Holy Spirit Weekend at a camp, which I
wasn't looking forward to. I went and maintained a stonewall approach until the
second day . suddenly a feeling of joy came over me, and I began to laugh
uncontrollably. At that point I knew that I had become a Christian." That is not
Biblical salvation, that is deception.
Hebrews 11: 1 Now faith is the substance of
things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Colin Mercer develops the point:
Colin makes an observation in his analysis that there is in Alpha a God who does not have in his character a perspective of "sin hating", only
love. This "love"
allows for doing just about anything for the chastisement of God seems to be
missing from this God's character!
In Alpha, God is merely presented as a God of Love. Thoughts of God concentrate
on his compassion and his loving nature, but almost entirely dismiss His
holiness, justice, truth, power and his sovereign dealing with men in
salvation. It is very interesting to note that there are few, if any,
references in Alpha to God being a God of wrath. That aspect of his character
is neglected.
Whilst
having no objection to the doctrine of the "God of love" this attribute of God
becomes imbalanced when his other attributes are ignored.
Psalm 7: 11 God judgeth the
righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
The atonement is central and the cross is indispensable to the gospel.
Without the cross work of Christ there is no gospel and therefore no salvation.
It is true that Alpha mentions both the cross and redemption, but it is only in
the context of God's love. This is in common with much of modern evangelism...
I have no query with the biblical doctrine of the love of God. Calvary does demonstrate that love. But Calvary does more than that. It reveals God's
inflexible justice .. God cannot simply overlook sin. The penalty must fall.
The price must be paid. On the cross Christ paid that price .. In Alpha the
gospel is the gospel of love, not the gospel of a sin hating God. This is a
major defect.
Baptist
Pastor Chris Hand of Crich declares:
The plight of man in Alpha is not as serious as in the Bible. ... Alpha does not use strong
terms and leaves us rather unclear about where we stand. As one follows its
argument, sin is more to be seen in the way we have 'messed up our lives.'...
For all the gravity of sin, Alpha never allows us to feel too bad about
ourselves. It never permits us to see ourselves in God's sight. That is a big
omission.
2) The Alpha Course points the way of salvation
away from Christ to a false spirit.
Dr. Paisley: The Bible warns us about another spirit which
is not the Holy Spirit of God at all. II Cor. 11: 4 For if he that cometh preacheth
another Jesus, whom we have not
preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not
received, or another gospel, which ye have not
accepted, ye might well bear with him.
Any spirit which does contrary to what the Bible teaches the Holy
Spirit does, is not the Spirit of God at all, but the spirit of the Devil.
Attestation of seemingly spiritual power is no proof that the spirit
is the Holy Spirit. The test is the attitude of the Spirit to our Lord Jesus.
That is the Scripture test. The people in Job's day called the fire from the
Devil which burned up Job's sheep and shepherds "the fire of God", but it was
not. Job 1: 16 While he was yet speaking, there
came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up
the sheep, and the servants, and
consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
So in the great judgment day, Christ warned us of those who will make
similar claims.
Matthew 7: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the
will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we
not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy
name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Pastor
Chris Hand goes onto declare:
Alpha's 'Spirit' appears to work in ways that lie outside the
confines of Scripture. Whoever it is that people are 'introduced' to at the Alpha
Weekend, it is not the Holy Spirit. But whoever this mysterious guest is, he is
equally at home with the ecstatic gatherings of New Age enthusiasts and
non-Christian religions alike.
This is indeed true as Alpha is all part of this
new wave move that has turned people away from the anointed pages of the
Authorized Bible to pagan inspired utterances of codices with their origins in
bondage torn Egypt.
Nicky Gumbel himself in Alpha Questions of Life p.24
admits an affinity with spiritualist F.J.A. Hort whom with Westcott helped
produce a text falsely described as "original" that has infiltrated right into
the heart of British Church life today and is now through Wycliffe and the
United Bible Societies manoeuvring into developing countries to turn them away
from the true texts of Antioch to the false codices of Egypt thus introducing
these nations to a counterfeit "Holy Spirit"! Gumbel declares Hort to be one of
the greatest textual critics! Let's find out about Hort's life & look at
what he had to say along with his accomplice Westcott.
1) Huge in Psychical Circles: Hort along with his partner Westcott as well as producing
a new "Original Greek" were
founders of the Cambridge Ghost Society in 1851 according to Alan Gauld in The
Founders of Psychical Research.
"In 1851 was founded at Cambridge a Society to
'conduct a serious and earnest inquiry into the nature of the phenomena vaguely
called supernatural,' and a number of distinguished persons became
members." [Alan Gauld, The Founders of Psychical Research, NY:
Schocken Books, 1968, p. 66]
In the Life of Edward White Benson, Archbishop of Canterbury, by his son, A. C. Benson, will be found, under the year 1851-2, the
following paragraph:
'Among my father's diversions at Cambridge was the
foundation of a 'Ghost Society,' the forerunner of the Psychical Society
[meaning the S.P.R.] for the investigation of the supernatural. Lightfoot, Westcott
and Hort were among the members. He was then, as always, more interested in
psychical phenomena than he cared to admit.'
In
1853 Westcott and Hort, now Anglican Bishops and active spiritualists began
their work to produce a corrupted Greek "original text from evil manuscripts
like Vaticanus and Sinaiticus to be taken up later by Dr. Eberhand Nestle who
followed on from the efforts of Westcott and Hort in 1898. In 1950 Kurt Aland
assumed ownership of this "original Greek" and it is this follow on from Westcott
and Hort that is now seen as the base document of all new translations, it
having derived through the Alexandrian methods of Clement. It is these
manuscripts that Alpha bases it corrupted course on, corrupted because
its "Biblical" base is experiential first, and Gnostic "original Greek" second.
Is it any
co-incidence that Gumbel is an Anglican Clergyman just as Hort was? It seems
that the corruption goes on and on! ( http://www.seekgod.ca/ghostsociety.htm )

2) The Psychic Hort recognized acceptance problems of the new
"original Greek"! It
would seem that the acceptance of Alpha and textual criticism has seemed
to be a way to overcome this problem.
Documented Proof:
1861 Apr. 12th - Hort to Westcott: "Also - but
this may be cowardice - I have a sort of craving that our text should be cast
upon the world before we deal with matters likely to brand us with suspicion. I
mean, a text, issued by men already known for what will undoubtedly be treated
as dangerous heresy, will have great difficulties in finding its way to regions
which it might otherwise hope to reach, and whence it would not be easily
banished by subsequent alarms." (Life, Vol.I, p.445).
Hort, A.F., Life and Letters of Fenton J.A. Hort,
MacMillan and Co., London, 1896, vols. I,II.
3) Gumbel looks for other methods to prove the existence of this "new
Jesus" to the people .. following on from his textual hero Hort who brought a liberty to make
scripture more socially acceptable ..
1862 Apr. 30th, May 1st - Hort: "It seems to be clearly and broadly directed
to maintaining that the English clergy are not compelled to maintain the
absolute infallibility of the Bible. And, whatever the truth may be, this seems
just the liberty required at the present moment, if any living belief is to
survive in the land." (Life, Vol.I, p.454).
Hort, A.F., Life and Letters of Fenton J.A. Hort,
MacMillan and Co., London, 1896, vols. I,II.
4) Moving away from the fanaticism of Holy Ghost Blood Revealing
Preachers, Gumbel has presented a course user friendly to Roman Catholicism
following on from his hero Hort ...
1848 July 6th - Hort: "One of the things, I think,
which shows the falsity of the Evangelical notion of this subject (baptism), is
that it is so trim and precise...no deep spiritual truths of the Reason are
thus logically harmonious and systematic...the pure Romish view seems to me
nearer, and more likely to lead to, the truth than the Evangelical...the
fanaticism of the bibliolaters, among whom reading so many 'chapters' seems
exactly to correspond to the Romish superstition of telling so many dozen beads
on a rosary...still we dare not forsake the Sacraments, or God will forsake
us...I am inclined to think that no such state as 'Eden' (I mean the popular
notion) ever existed, and that Adam's fall in no degree differed from the fall
of each of his descendants" (Life, Vol.I, pp.76-78).
Oct. 17th - Hort: "I have been persuaded for
many years that Mary-worship and 'Jesus'-worship have very much in common in
their causes and their results." (Life, Vol.II, p.50).
Hort, A.F., Life and Letters of Fenton J.A. Hort,
MacMillan and Co., London, 1896, vols. I,II.
5) No Dealing with Adam's sin with Alpha, perhaps because Gumbel's
hero Hort was pro-Darwin ..
1860 Apr. 3rd - Hort: "But the book which has most
engaged me is Darwin. Whatever may be thought of it, it is a book that one is
proud to be contemporary with. I must work out and examine the argument in more
detail, but at present my feeling is strong that the theory is
unanswerable." (Life, Vol.I, p.416).
Hort, A.F., Life and Letters of Fenton J.A. Hort,
MacMillan and Co., London, 1896, vols. I,II.
6) Fact - Gumbel's "one of the greatest ever textual critics" denies
Christ Jesus sacrifice for sin redemption as being good enough ..
Oct. 15th - Hort: "I entirely agree -
correcting one word - with what you there say on the Atonement, having for many
years believed that "the absolute union of the Christian (or rather, of
man) with Christ Himself" is the spiritual truth of which the popular
doctrine of substitution is an immoral and material counterfeit...Certainly
nothing can be more unscriptural than the modern limiting of Christ's bearing
our sins and sufferings to His death; but indeed that is only one aspect of an
almost universal heresy." (Life, Vol.I, p.430).
Hort, A.F., Life and Letters of Fenton J.A. Hort,
MacMillan and Co., London, 1896, vols. I,II.
Alpha seems to develop this further by relating the Cross, according to
Pastor Chris Hand to being a "visual aid" to prove conclusively that God is
self-sacrificial and loving.
Pastor Hand goes onto say, "Christ's work on the Cross is demoted to
being a rescue act to save us from our problems rather than fulfilling the righteous
demands of the holy law and appeasing the wrath of God.
Pastor Chris Hand. Falling Short p.61 7) "Protestantism temporary" according to Gumbel's "one of greatest
ever textual critics" Hort, and indeed Alpha's co-operation with
Catholicism would seem to make this so ..
1864 Sept. 23rd - Hort: "I believe Coleridge was
quite right in saying that Christianity without a substantial Church is vanity
and dissolution; and I remember shocking you and Lightfoot not so very long ago
by expressing a belief that 'Protestantism' is only parenthetical and
temporary. In short, the Irvingite creed (minus the belief in the superior
claims of the Irvingite communion) seems to me unassailable in things
ecclesiastical." (Life, Vol.II, p.30,31).
Hort, A.F., Life and Letters of Fenton J.A. Hort,
MacMillan and Co., London, 1896, vols. I,II.
8) Alpha's rejection of the Word, is consistent with Hort's
blasphemous proclamation ...
1851 Dec. 29,30th - Hort: "I had no idea till the last
few weeks of the importance of texts, having read so little Greek Testament,
and dragged on with the villainous Textus Receptus.. Think of that vile Textus
Receptus leaning entirely on late MSS.; it is a blessing there are such early
ones" (Life, Vol.I, p.211).
Hort, A.F., Life and Letters of Fenton J.A. Hort,
MacMillan and Co., London, 1896, vols. I,II.
Alpha's association with corruption, therefore, leads one
to believe that the whole operation is designed to lead the unsuspecting
follower to quite another "spirit" to the one identified in the uncorrupted
Bible.
Dr.
Ian Paisley: ... the Alpha Course is
the gospel of "another Jesus" and not the gospel of the one and only true
Christ, the Son of God.
3) The Alpha Course points away from the finished
work of Christ in his Blood-shedding on the Cross, to Church sacraments.
Dr. Ian Paisley: The Alpha News of March 1998 tells of the
conversion of two Alpha Course students after attending Christmas Midnight Mass. In these testimonies of conversion there is no mention of the sufferings
and blood-shedding of our Lord Jesus.. In Alpha conversions the whole emphasis
is upon feelings, not upon faith. In these testimonies the precious blood of
Christ is completely jettisoned.
For the Alpha students, the offence of the cross of Christ has ceased,
because the cross is no longer preached or believed..
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without
shedding of blood is no remission.
I John 1: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he
is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth
us from all sin.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the
power of God unto salvation to every one
that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God
revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Gal 2: 20 I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I
live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and
the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith
of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me
Gal. 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet
suffer persecution? then is the
offence of the cross ceased.
Why did Jesus die? This is one of the crunch areas for sin is presented as
something people do rather than emphasizing what people are by nature because
of Adam's fall. Gumbel's audience is not informed that by Adam's disobedience all
have inherited sin.
Rom. 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the
world, and death by sin; and so death passed
upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For
until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when
there is no law.
14 Nevertheless
death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that
had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure
of him that was to come.
15 But
not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the
offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one
man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto
many.
16 And
not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was
by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences
unto justification.
17 For
if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive
abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign
in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore
as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by
the righteousness of one the
free gift came upon all men
unto justification of life.
19 For
as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one
shall many be made righteous.
Instead of moving by the blood bought word Gumbel simply
asks the followers to say "sorry" for their sin and ask Jesus into their lives.
Whilst there is emphasis on the "Holy Spirit", the convicting power of the
Spirit is not seen within this course, so therefore, the actual "salvations"
have to be in doubt. We need an immediate return to the PREACHING OF GOD'S
WORD THROUGH THE "ANOINTING CONVICTING PREACHED WORD" FROM THE BLOOD STAINED
PAGES OF THE AUTHORISED VERSION. No wonder so many Pastors are going astray by embracing
the Alpha Course when all you have to do is say "sorry" each time and
all will be alright. This is completely unbiblical as the Minister of the Word
of God has to die to the powers of the flesh and move into the blood stained
garments of Jesus Christ; Eph. 6.
Jer.
12:10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my
portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
11 They
have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land
is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart. When the Preacher of the Blood Stained Word does appear,
the Alpha converts rise up in anger because they have been "amusingly
brought into the Kingdom" by pleasantries and jokes and do not like to be
convicted of their sin because they have already "let Jesus into their heart".
It simply does not work this way and so the combination of allegorical Gnostic
theology, Satanic "Bibles" and being brought into the Kingdom through Alpha with "allowing the spirit" means that all we have today in
Pentecostal-Evangelical churches is a playground of evil spirits rather than
the old time convicting power of the Holy Ghost. John Bunyan's insight into
Vanity Fair absolutely applies to these "playground churches" today.
Instead of allowing the convicting power of the Spirit
Gumbel uses today's "nicey nicey" techniques of not wanting to hurt anyone's
feelings. This approach almost eliminates the Gospel from the Course even
though he does mention sin over thirty times in Talk 3. He mentions sin,
however, without mentioning Adam and being born in sin. The "pray a prayer"
technique is used without the concept of being saved from hell being explained
and the power of the blood of Jesus. Not surprising as the NIV leaves out the
blood!
CORRECT
A.V. Col. 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins:
NIV - NO
BLOOD VERSION :, Col. 1: 14 in whom we have redemption,[a] the forgiveness of sins.
How can anyone be saved in such an atmosphere without the
conviction of the Holy Ghost? I remember the atmosphere at Gospel Meetings of
the 1950's in Liverpool when souls came out convicted of sin and their lives
were changed. Where is the evidence of that phenomenon today? There may be evidence of saying a prayer with Gumbel's
technique but there is no evidence of mass revival, and certainly no evidence
of "dying to self" and "leaving the World" in these NIV Alpha "churches". This is because the exclusivity of Christ Jesus as being the only
way to the Father and a withdrawal from the life of Baal is not emphasized.
Instead the NIV and its related theological approaches are the Gnostic methods
of Alexandria. Gnosticism mixes cultures, which means that in Alpha great
care is taken not to upset anybody.
Preachers of the "old school" are regarded as "too heavy"
and are alienated from the "Churches" stolen by the devil for his Alexandrian
Social Gospel. There is no explanation in the Alpha course that good
works do not save knowing that part of Alpha's audience believe that
christenings, infant baptisms and confessions to a Priest also bring
"salvation" and so being "born again" is not the only path of salvation in Alpha.
Lutheran theology of "faith alone" is missing and so
thousands of Roman Catholics have embraced the course and in true Gnostic style
have managed to combine Roman Catholic Alexandrian theology with the concept of
saying a "sinners prayer", "receiving the spirit" and "speaking in tongues".
All this goes on whilst still praying rosary prayers to Mary, confessing to a
Priest (why is this necessary when you have said the sinners prayer?) and
practising the seven Roman sacraments.
Gnosticism is alive today and is well activated in NIV Alpha Course "churches"!!!!!! Where is the teaching of the once for all sacrifice?
"Once for all" does not fit into Catholic theology for each time they eat the
bread they are eating the literal body of Christ! "Once for all" and "the
sinners prayer", therefore do not come together in Alpha and so a
numbers of ways for salvation is advocated. Gumbel has admitted that he
has carefully scripted the course to enable the course to be used by Catholics
and so teaching on communion and baptism is left out, and so the "new converts"
are converted into a new multi faith style Christianity that goes about not
upsetting people. Very different to the life of Jesus!
This is why our ministry refuses to be part of this "new
wave" move with its "bringing together" organizations like FGBMFI, Churches
Together and the Evangelical Alliance. It is a very lonely path at this time as
Jesus end time prophecy of the elect being deceived manifests.
Luke 12: 49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be
already kindled?
50 But
I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
51 Suppose
ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52 For
from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two,
and two against three.
53 The
father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the
mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in
law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in
law. 54 And
he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west,
straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
55 And
when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to
pass.
56 Ye
hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it
that ye do not discern this time?
II
Cor. 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with
unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And
what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath
he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And
what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God;
as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their
God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the
unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And
will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the
Lord Almighty
