ABOUT CGEM
The Children of God Evangelistic Ministries (CGEM) is a non-denominational evangelistic ministry founded in 1994 and incorporated as well as accredited by the Government of Liberia.
CGEM came into existence through a vision from God to his servant, Evangelist J. Aaron Wright, (who is the present Executive Director) for the sole purpose of making Salvation real onto the world at all cost. Evangelist Wright is a product of the Eastern Mennonite University Summer Peace Institute in Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA; West Africa Peace Institute in Accra Ghana, Life and Peace Institute in Uppsala, Sweden and has worked for Christian Health Association of Liberia (CHAL) as an Assistant Coordinator in Liberia for 12 years.
This ministry since its inceptions has designed and developed many programs such as: Evangelism, Christian Education, Peace and Capacity Building, Agriculture and Relief.
The Ministry has grown greatly. The Vision now has three arms:
- Children of God Evangelistic Ministries (CGEM) has given birth to the Church Arm and the Institutional Arm. CGEM is now the Mission Arm and Secretariat for the entire Ministry.
- Salvation Tabernacle of Faith (STF) is the Church Arm of CGEM. STF has established
branches in the Country, Liberia.
- West Africa Christian Training Institute (WACTI) is the institutional arm of CGEM.
As the international community is aware, Liberia has suffered an unrest of brutal civil war that destroyed an estimated number of quarter million lives, leaving behind many problems such as: psychological, economical and social problems as well as ethnicity, nepotism, tribalism, just to name a few. These things have left people very vulnerable. So, most especially the women, females are involved with a high level of prostitution. Women give their bodies in exchange of money; this act is highly responsible for the many deceases found in the community and the Liberian society. The major cause of these demonic acts is sin. Therefore, the need for Biblical Evangelism is highly needful.
With the intrusion of the prosperity gospel, many are going to such churches in Liberia because they were told that Jesus would give them all they need (money, peace, joy, visa to abroad, etc) (Ezekiel 3:18-21.)
We at CGEM strongly oppose this issue of “prosperity gospel”. These things should not be used as drawing cards for salvation. God wants to firstly heal our sins by being honest to confess, repent, and accept Christ, Jesus in faith as your Lord and Savior (John 3:16-18 & II Timothy 3:1-9. )
Statement From Evangelist J. Aaron Wright
I am Evangelist J. Aaron Wright, Senior Pastor of the Salvation Tabernacle of Faith and founder of the Children of God Evangelistic Ministries (CGEM). I am married with two girls children and four foster sons.
I started ministry as a part time minister. The Lord gave me a vision to “Make Salvation Real unto the world at all Cost”. The vision brought to birth the Children of God Evangelistic Ministries (CGEM) at which time I became working for a secular organization to sustain my family and God's Kingdom. In the year 2004 the Lord spoke to me that the time is coming that I will have to resign and go into full – time ministry. To cut long matter short, the Spirit move me to resign and I did it with the support of my family in November 2006. At this point of resignation, my wife, Joyce Angeline Wright was pregnant for our second daughter, Aaronlyn.
When I obeyed God and left the job, the Lord told me to start the Church arm of the Ministry. Where souls that won will be sent for fellowship with their God. The fellowship started July 2007 and was turned into a Church on October 7, 2007. The Church started right in my living room; God by His grace, led us to a community school. It is this school that we presently using for our church activities. The membership has grown up to 132 presently. To God be all the glory.
The name of the Church is "Salvation Tabernacle of Faith” with the vision of “Making Salvation Real unto the World at All Cost”.
Our country, Liberia, fought a 14 years of civil war. This war brought serious destruction on lives and property; left many children as orphans and women as widows, which our mission arm is catering to 16 orphans and 3 widows, within our little and humble beginning. Our major activity is Evangelism (soul – winning) amongst others. We trained village evangelists and placed them within their respective villages.
Vision: “Making Salvation Real unto the World At All Cost (Act 1:8)”
